From packed to snow-ready in under 2 minutes
Each Airlite Snowshoe comes in a compact drawstring bag that fits easily in a backpack, saddlebag, snowmachine storage compartment, or vehicle trunk. When the situation calls for snowshoes, simply pull them out of the bag and unfold.
Begin by blowing up the snowshoe using the quick inflation/deflation valve. This gets the basic shape established and provides initial firmness. Each unit has two valves — start with the larger quick-inflate valve for the initial fill.
After the initial mouth inflation, use the standard tire valve (compatible with most small hand pumps or CO2 devices) to bring the snowshoe to full operating pressure. The preferred method is a quick shot of CO2 or a few strokes of a compact hand pump. This step is critical for proper performance.
Inflate until the toe area is firm — between 8.5 and 10.5 PSI. Use the included pressure gauge to verify. Proper inflation ensures the snowshoe provides adequate flotation and support in deep snow. Using the product without full inflation is not recommended.
Secure your boots to the snowshoe using the integrated binding system. The traction pad on the bottom provides grip in most snow conditions. For icy or hard-packed surfaces, attach the optional crampons (included in the Complete Package) for additional traction.
When you're done, open the quick deflation valve to release air rapidly. Fold the snowshoes and return them to the drawstring storage bags. The compact design means they take up minimal space and are always ready for the next time you need them.
